LG Display is holding its Open Innovation Forum (OIF) in Las Vegas, and the company is showing new potential applications for its 55" transparent OLED displays. LGD has teamed up with its customers and design houses to introduce these new use cases.

Above you can see the E-Crystal, which is a proposed solution for conference rooms, created with Korean interior company EXA E&C. The E-Crystal embeds a transparent OLED into the conference room glass wall. LGD also shows the Transparent Wall Skin, produced with DAIER, that adds OLED displays into a glass wall which can be easily installed in offices, hotels, and hospitals.

Samsung Display officially announced its latest laptop OLED display, a 15.6" 240Hz panel aimed for gaming laptops. The display offers a QHD (2560x1440) resolution, a response time of 0.2 ms and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification.

Samsung also announced that the first laptop to adopt the new display, which will enter production soon, is MSI's Raider GE67 HX, which is already available for pre-orders.

We are happy to announce that the OLED marketplace lists a 2.69" 600x800 AMOLED display, produced by BOE.

We know many device makers have been struggling to find small-sized AMOLED displays, as most OLED makers produce either wearable OLEDs (usually up to 1.5" in size) or smartphone-type OLEDs (starting at around 5-inch). This new 2.69" AMOLED can be a great solution for many companies.

LG Electronics is expanding its "lifestyle" OLED Objet TV range, with two new TVs, both based on 65" 4K WOLED evo panels.

The Easel (65Art90), which you can see above, resembles an easel used for painting or showing art, and offers a movable fabric cover that can be controlled from the remote and offer just part of the TV image (Line View).

The OLED Marketplace is the world's most comprehensive OLED catalog, with displays from several producers. It includes PMOLED, AMOLED, flexible displays, OLED microdisplays, ePaper displays and more.

Today we have added Pixel Pitch information for the displays in the catalog. Recently we have found that several companies are interested in displays in a specific pitch (usually for microdisplays) and this could be helpful.

DSCC says that 2.22 million foldable smartphones shipped in Q1 2022, up 571% from the first quarter of 2021. In Q4 2021, however, 4.2 million units shipped (a 47% decrease).

DSCC estimates that a total of 16 million foldable OLED phones will ship in 2022, a 107% increase compared to 2021. In terms of OLED panels, over 20 million will be produced and shipped in 2022.
